Gifts for the Home

I love gift giving! It brings me so much joy to find a gift someone would not think about getting themselves. The reality is, most gifts we ask for are ones we can afford ourselves. At least you won't find me putting a gift on my wish list that's more than I can personally afford! I find that to be the case for most adults, so what makes a gift special is not necessarily the price. What makes a great gift is its uniqueness and the way it meets the needs or interests of the receiver. For example, one year my sister purchased me reusable face wipes! I use face wipes everyday, but it is also wasteful to discard them and continue to buy new ones. Her gift came with a mesh bag to wash the reusable wipes in the laundry. That gift fit my needs and was something I could not have bought myself since I did not know it existed.

Games for the Home
Elegant Board Games are perfect for home entertainers, decorative types and those who might like to leave their games out for display. Some of my favorite games are below.

Host Gifts for the Home
The Art of Mixology is a book I use often and love to leave out on display. It is filled with classic cocktail recipes along with pictures.
Bar Tool Set is a must to go along with The Art of Mixology book. If the receiver does not already have a shaker I would be sure to give one of those as well.
You always need a bite to eat with your drinks, so give the host a place to keep their favorite recipes. I love writing down recipes and storing them in a recipe box. This way they are all in one place, and I do not have to worry about my phone screen going black to reference a recipe online. Plus, I never like all the recipes in a cookbook. I'd rather keep just my favorites in one place. If you gift recipe cards and a recipe card box be sure to include a few of your favorite recipes on the cards!
Recipe Cards can be found on Amazon, but I love the ones from CB2. They fit perfectly in a beautiful Brass Recipe Card Box, which can be set out on a counter for display.
Bath & Spa Gifts for the Home
I have yet to meet a person who does not love burning a candle or a beautiful smell, so give the gift of scent.
State Candles from Homesick.com add a personal touch to a candle. Maybe you can include more than one candle in your gift. Give them a candle for each state they've lived in.
To make the gift of scent extra special and unique add a wick trimmer, candle snuffer, and matches with a striker. The specific products shown below are beautiful and useful, so they can be left out by the candle as it burns.
As mentioned earlier I love my reusable cotton rounds with a washable bag. This was gifted to me, and it is a gift that I use every night! I am not sure where mine are from since they were a gift, but I linked similar ones here from Target.
We all use and need hangers, but very few people splurge on good hangers, so give black velvet hangers to a person who loves clothes and/or enjoys an organized closet. Velvet hangers prevent slipping and take up less space on each rack in the closet.
Gadget & Tool Gifts for the Home
Some people actively seek out gadgets and tools and will always love more of them, while others forget they exist. Either way giving a gadget or tool for a gift is a great idea.
Simplehuman.com offers a Foaming Soap Dispenser and many other gadgets for the home that are honestly so cool. Most of them I want, but I would not splurge on for myself.
A "tool" I am thrilled Alex and I purchased for ourselves is a small 3-Gallon Shop Vacuum. It is one of those items I suggest couple's add to their wedding registry, especially those who own a home. No one wants to use their nice in-house vacuum for super dirty projects outside or renovations. Shop vacuums are super handy for vacuuming out cars as well.
The last gadget on my list is for someone who loves to cook without a lot of fuss! The Select-A-Spice® Auto-Measure® Carousel Professional Series includes 12 spice canisters that perfectly measure 1/4tsp every time. You can of course measure one spice more than once for larger quantities.
Give Gifts for the Home
Gifts for the home will always be used, especially as more people are working form home. We all appreciate a beautiful home and gadgets that make our lives easier. I don't know about you, but after writing this there are some gifts for the home I am considering getting myself! Let me know if you found a gift to add to your wishlist or give to someone else.
